Growing a combination of the Wild and Arugula Rocket varieties are the perfect symphony in salads, fresh on pizza and in homemade pesto. The Wild being more hardy and slow bolting and the Arugula more succulent and tender.  

 

Height: 20 - 30cm   

Days to germination: 5-10 days. First leaves are ready to harvest in 3-4 weeks. Sow successionally for a continuous harvest over the summer months.  

Sowing: Sow seeds from April to September. 

Light preference: Full sun but part shade can work too.  

Soil requirements: Most well drained, fertile soil types are fine. 

Spacing: Make a 2 cm deep trough and plant seeds roughly +/- 5cm apart. 

Harvest: Pick young as the leaves become more peppery and sharp with age.

  • Each seed packet is hand painted. Inside is a planting guide on recommended months to sow the seeds, transplant them out and then when they should be ready to harvest. I have added the wildlife benefits for growing sunflowers. The artwork can be cut out and sent as a postcard.
